TexNet with Gempa are organizing the first North America SeisComP users and training meeting in Austin from Tuesday November 4th until Friday November 7th, 2025.
The agenda is below:
1. Basic SeisComP training on Tuesday whole day (9 AM to 6 PM), and Wednesday morning (9 AM to 1 PM) (Gempa).
2. Advance SeisComP training on Wednesday afternoon (2 PM to 6 PM), and Thursday morning (9 AM to 1 PM) (Gempa).
3. User group meeting with presentations and discussion on needs and next steps on Thursday afternoon (2 PM to 6 PM) and Friday morning (9 AM to 1 PM) (All).
Meeting Location: Pickle Research Campus, 10611 Exploration Way (Building 130), Austin, Texas 78758
Cost: There will be no participation fees. All costs for traveling, boarding, and lodging will be covered by the participants. Snacks and coffee will be provided.
Preparation for the course: Participants bring a laptop with Linux (RHEL 7,8,9, Debian 11,12 or Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 native or in VM or Microsoft WSL) and SeisComP installed in the latest release version. RHEL 10 and Debian 13 are options for SeisComP in the upcoming version 7. gsm should be used for installing SeisComP in extension to the online installation instructions for SeisComP. Questions related to gsm can be addressed in the SeisComP forum or by direct support from gempa if available. Laptops must have at least Full HD screen resolution, 4 GB RAM, 4 CPU cores and 20 GB free disk space for adding waveform data and software packages.

Severe Weather Conditions Impacting Real-Time Data from TexNet Stations in North Texas - February 23, 2021
Due to severe winter weather conditions affecting Texas, we are currently experiencing disruptions in real-time data streaming from several TexNet stations in West Texas. The affected stations include: MB01, MB04, MB05, MB06, MB07, PB17, PB18, PB22, PB30, PB33. Our team is actively working to resolve these issues and restore data streaming. We anticipate that all stations will be back online and providing real-time data no later than next week. For updates, please keep an eye on our website and follow us on social media.
